Rudolf Kämmer was one of the representatives of Optical Art (Op Art) in the 1960s oriented to experimental traditions and movements of the Bauhaus and was one of the founders of geometric, concrete and constructivist art.

Artistically researching Rudolf Kämmer stimulated with his works the perceptual behavior of the viewer of the picture, by challenging him to question and influence the work through attentive visual behavior.

His work concepts (color reliefs, revolving web paintings, light kinetic objects, tilting flap paintings or linear point structures) are unique documents of an artist who significantly influenced the contemporary art movements of the 1960s.
