This iconic design was built by both "giants" of bentwood furniture at this time - thonet & j&j kohn - and became world renown as part of the inventory for the famous viennese cabaret/ coffeehouse fledermaus in austria. This fantastic art nouveau table was made of fine beechwood, typical for kohn furniture, and trimmed to a very dark mahogany/ brown tone with a beautiful hand-polished shellac finish. This early 20th century side table comes in absolute great restored condition. As you may see a lot of faked copies on the market, especially of this model, this masterpiece is an absolute original showing the wellknown paper mark of "jacob & josef kohn" under the tables top. A real timeless piece of bentwood furniture from the company of j&j kohn in vienna. This piece has an attribution mark,
