Fantastical Mid-Century Modern Italian Glass sculpture of a proud Penguin. Beautiful period form in sommerso glass, in this case an appealing and tasteful caramel brown, submerged in a deep clear glass overcoat. With style, subject, and quality it is attributed to Murano glassworks.
This exemplar has a finely polished, unsigned pontil. It stands 15.5" tall, is 2.5" wide, and front to back at base is 7". He weight just under 7 pounds.
The overall condition of the glass is excellent, with one CAVEAT... there is one real, however subtle spot of glass loss on the penguins right toe. The loss is shown in the photos in two grades of light.
