This Hekman Bachelor Chest is smaller than a dresser and would fit nicely in a bedroom, living room, family room or an office. While designs may vary all bachelor chests had one specific feature which had come to be synonymous with the term "bachelor chest"...a fold over top that could be used for a writing surface. In this particular design, Hekman went one big step further; the top unfolds to reveal a full desk top complete with partitions and a green leather writing surface tooled in gold.
