The evocative portrait of Ciro De Rosa portrays an elderly man with a beard on a Flemish background, light is the undisputed protagonist of the work as well as the skilful and spectacular exploitation of shadows. The work is an exquisite reproduction of old age and light. The painting is inspired by one of the works created by the famous Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn considered the "Golden Symbol" of Dutch and Flemish paintings of the Baroque era.
