In this beautiful oil on canvas Francoise Vigneron was inspired by the oriental and Arab landscapes of the French painter Charles-Théodore Frère, who after his travels in the Middle East, became a totally orientalist painter.
Precisely this is the reinterpretation of the painting "Street in Cairo".
Using short, mixed brush strokes, Vigneron was able to portray the scene in exceptional detail. The figures, the camels, the architecture and the landscape are highly naturalistic in their representation.
