Manufactured by Chapo Creation, 2019. … Read more Special black edition of B17 wall-mounted bookshelf designed by Pierre Chapo, circa 1970 in France. Manufactured by Chapo Creation, 2019. Oakwood. In original condition, with wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina. The piece will be shipped demounted. Pierre Chapo is born in a family of craftsmen. After his regular studies, he worked in the workshop of a navy carpenter. He was graduated architect in 1958 from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, after having travelled in the United States and in Europe. He opened his own workshop first in Clamart as well as a shop in Paris. Chapo's work was inspired by Charlotte Perriand. Ten years later he settled down in Gordes, where he based the Societe´ Chapo. He then dedicated himself mainly to his work as a carpenter and a cabinetmaker and gave a series of lectures about his great passion, wood.
