In the 2010 time frame, I made a group of geometric shaped art pieces I called constructions since they are made of wood pieces. I was intending these to be wood constructed to feel like folded paper or origami.
This piece is mostly painted sponging, stencil and spatter in colors ranging from deep purple-blue to reds and oranges with some pearl and metallics in the painting. The triangles in reds and oranges are the collaged paper elements.
"Folded One" is three pieces of composite wood -- the base piece is 3/4 inch thick and the top pieces are 1/4 inch thick. There are 1/2 inch thick spacers on the back to add more dimension.
