Handmade and whimsical, jade green ceramic table lamp topped with a colorful, one-of-a-kind, paper shade will add warmth and character to your room. The turban like shape is detailed with thin, raised white stripes that add texture and character. Topped with a handmade paper shade by Jil Smith. it is a delightful piece of functional art. Handmade pottery from kRI kRI Studio, shade from Insatiable Studios. Both are in Seattle.
Jil Smith, a colleague of mine, makes her shades using a wet paper mache process and a Japanese paper called Kinwashi. The process requires several layers of paper. Each layer is wet, weak and fragile when it is applied but tightens up like a drum when dry. Four layers of the Kinwashi forms a luminous shell which can then be decorated. The finished shade is durable and fade resistant.
My lamp bases are slip cast, glazed and fired in my studio, kRI kRI Studio, in Seattle. The original shapes are created by hand using the coil and pinch technique. This gives them a softly dimpled surface that reflects light in a pleasing way. Thin, raised white stripes detail each piece.
Because they are made by hand, my lamps are not perfect in the way a factory produced lamp is. Instead, they have a wabi-sabi style with slight imperfections that give them their individual character.
Each lamp is finished with high quality hardware and a UL approved, cloth covered cord and plug
This lamp also has a matching ceramic finial
The Turban lamp with Jil Smith shade stands approximately 22" tall x 10" wide including the shade. It is suitable as a bedside table lamp or as accent lighting in almost any room in the home.
The base is approx. 6" wide x 13" tall. Measurement does not include the socket.
This lamp has a three way switch. Takes an E26 3-way bulb

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations

- Chairish Express In-Home Delivery
- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.
- Shipping charges start at $999 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.
