In this painting, Maestro Angelo Granati drew inspiration from the paintings of Maestro John William Godward, who had a strong passion for classical architecture, and above all for marble structures. In most of his works, always sumptuous and full of grace, women in classic clothing are represented posing against markedly decorative backgrounds, often on a marble terrace
Godward meticulously studied architecture and classic clothing to give his works the stamp of authenticity.
