Still life - Salvatore Marinelli Italia 2011 - Oil on canvas cm. 80x120.
in this precious oil on canvas, Salvatore Marinelli is inspired by the paintings of the Neapolitan school of the seventeenth century which had as one of the greatest exponents of nature posing the Master Giovan Battista Ruoppolo, whose style in painting still lifes was peculiarly marked by shades dark backgrounds and in some ways it is similar to some paintings of the same genre by Caravaggio.
Undisputed artist of still life, Salvatore Marinelli reveals his originality and wise mastery in this precious composition.
This grandiose still life depicts a profusion of grapes, peaches, pomegranates, pumpkins and other fruits, lying on a table covered with an elegant green cloth, and in the background you can see a mountainous landscape.
