Excellent vintage camouflage glazed stoneware lidded pitcher, taking the form of an alligator or crocodile. Quite a unique, and most likely one of a kind, functional piece of folk art pottery. I dare you to find another!
I think it is safe to assume that this piece was created in the Southern US, in a state like Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, etc...
I was unable to find a signature anywhere on this piece, and I was not able to find anything else like this piece when researching online.
So I will let you the buyer decide what you think it is, and where you think it is from.
Regardless in who made this stoneware, it truly is an excellent piece of unique handmade thrown pottery, and design.
This amazing pitcher is in overall very nice original condition except for a small repair the former owner made, which appears to still be holding strong. I tried to picture it but it is still hard to see. The lid was glued back in place and you can kind of see where it was re-attached when you look really really closely.
Other than that, this sculpture is in very nice condition!!
I did not see any noticeable cracks, breaks, chips, gouges, etc... to the body of the alligator.
Perfect piece for eclectic home décor or a collection!
This piece of pottery will take a footprint of roughly 13" tall, 5.5" in diameter, and 7.5" wide.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
