For this piece I am taking a paper-like approach (folding) to non-paper materials (wood composite). This piece is made of two pieces of wood composite made to look as folded paper. One side is painted in gloss black acrylic, and the other is painted and collaged with multi-colored stripes and red circles. Some of the stripes are gold metallic. It has a fun vibe.
Each of the front pieces is 3/4 inch thick. The spacers on the back or 1/4 inch thick.
This piece reminds me of my late 60's art experiences in Washington, DC galleries.
