Vintage 1968 issue of Avant-Garde magazine with a superb, highly frame able cover illustration by American pop art icon, Tom Wesselmann. Celebrated within this issue is the artists well-known Big American Nudes and more.

Avant-Garde magazine had a relatively short run. It produced only 16 issues between January 1968 and July 1971. But it left its mark, influencing a litany of tastemakers within the world of arts.
A collaboration between Ralph Ginzburg (editor) and Herb Lubalin (art director), Avant-Garde is partly remembered for its radical politics and embrace of erotic content and unique typeface of Postmodern design guru Herb Lubalin.
