Wonderful mid-century French surrealist painting by artist Jean-Pierre Serrier. J.P. Serrier (1934-1989) was born in Montparnasse, Paris, France and is a well known listed artist. The painting depicts a troupe of traveling carnival performers dressed in their costumes standing along side a scarecrow. Like others he painted at this time, its a great example of mid-century French artworks. The painting is signed with the artist signature, date and painting title in the lower right corner. C27674
