The original "the girl with the bird and the shell" is a counterpart of "the child with the cage" by jean-baptiste pigalle. The naked child is sitting on the grass and to his right a shell. A form of sweetness emanates from the child's eyes. His innocent face breathes the happiness of feeding the bird. Its counterpart, "child with a cage" represents a naked girl with an open cage in her hand. The bird has flown away. The child with a saddened look at the sky.
