Very rare, early, Jonathan Adler Pottery Menagerie Sculpture of a Long White Curvy Snake.
It was discontinued decades ago, and is highly collectible. It retains its Original "Made in Peru", Adler paper sticker and his Signature black "A" on the bottom.
The entire piece, except the bottom, has a low luster, almost matte off-white finish. The bottom is unglazed.
On the top of the snake, a curvy, incised pattern, highlights the winding contours of the snake's body.
Adler has continued to retained this winding snake design, in a variety of creations, whether textile, pottery or print to this day, however, this was his first incarnation of his Snake design.
This original pottery white snake has been discontinued for decades.
It is a marvelous member of his original Menagerie collection, when he began his career in Peru.
This piece so very rarely comes to market or auction, especially in this perfect condition. Made in 1980s-1990s
Excellent condition.
