From the front, you see her strong features, but upon closer inspection, you find that there is more to her. I'm not sure if she was depicting Medusa (there are no snakes?) or a mother, but either way there is something powerful and bit sorrowful in the portrait. It is made from heavy clay and is finished in a deep, brown glaze. There is felt on the bottom. No signature. See less
