Crafted in the old world style … Read more Sublime set of eight Italian dining chairs featuring hand-carved faux bois gilt wood frames. Crafted in the old world style from beech frames covered in layers of gesso (plaster), rouge lacquer, and gilt to create a thick, aged patina reminiscent of a Napoleon empire era style. The faux bois frames have an arched crest decorated with oak leaves on the splat. The generous seats have small arms on the sides measuring 23.5 inches high. The serpentine seat has a floral and foliate upholstery with dark green foliage over a white ground. The green pattern changes color from dark to faded when observed from an angle. Excellent joinery and craftsmanship with no expense spared having layers of lacquer and gilt on the finish. Each chair has a stunning profile and presence like a piece of sculpted art.
