Mid century Ritts Co. Los Angeles, Astrolite Products lucite lamp in the shape of a twisted helix. Pairs nicely with another Ritts Co. lamp (same size, different design) selling in Fog and Sea. Both pieces were acquired directly from the Ritts Co. Los Angeles store as a set in the 1970s.
Herbert and Shirley Ritts (parents of photographer Herb Ritts), had a furniture company that was started in the 1950s. Shirley was an interior decorator, and their company specialized in rattan furniture before selling high-end acrylics in the 1970s under the Astrolite brand (TM 1969).
