Modeled after … Read more This vintage framed botanical art print is circa 1950s, and was sold by the Turner Wall Accessory Co. Modeled after the style of antique theorem paintings, which means painting with stencils which were popular in England in the 1800s. The stencils are multiple overlays and designs are always three-dimensional, primitive and stylized in nature. Theorem painting is most often done on white velvet fabric, which gives the painting a soft, lovely depth. Fruit and floral arrangements are the most popular subjects. This piece is signed 'D. Grose', artist David Grose. A lovely piece rendered in subtle hues of blue, yellow, tan, and green.
