Quezal is known for its iridescent colors particularly their gold luster glass as this pair represents. Quezal glass is known for "the enduring hallmark of Quezal art glass is its unique expression of the Art Nouveau style, based on organic shapes and naturalistic motifs coupled with technical perfection in the execution" as stated by The Journal of Antiques website. This pair of sconces exhibit these Art Nouveau styles in the form used for the shades. At the beginning Quezal rivaled Tiffany and was prices higher than Galle pieces of the original time period. Each Quezal shade is 5" tall. Top width is 4.75" in diameter, bottom width is 2.25". These pieces were purchased on the frames from an antique store in Brownfield, Texas in the 1960s just as they are. They have been hanging in a West Texas home until now. Each one has an iridescent burned candle in it. This was just done to accent the piece, not use for illumination. See less
