Hand decorated with modern adaptations of traditional Chinoiserie designs - this brutalist slab porcelain fan-shaped tray was created by Kenneth Russell Ferguson. Painter, printmaker, sculptor, ceramicist, teacher, innovator, and son of world renowned master potter Ken Ferguson.
A true work of art this beautiful tray is certain to make a statement. Whether sitting upon a surface, easel displayed in a prominent spot, or hung on a gallery wall. Note: easel and/or wall hanging equipment not included.
Built of white porcelain slabs and painted with a delicate pattern of Chinoiserie elements in cobalt blue glaze. Measures 17" long x 18.5" wide x 1.75" high. Unsigned, this work has been authenticated as the artist's work by category experts along with by the artist himself.
In excellent vintage condition. This porcelain art ceramic features a variety of rough edges, slab joints, surface cracks, glaze crazing. All original, purposeful, and part of the artist's expression. Structurally sound, all of the above has no impact on it's strength, use, and permanence.
