A silver box with lid from the 20th century The silver scene is in relief after the oil painting of … Read more A silver box with lid from the 20th century The silver scene is in relief after the oil painting of Jan Steen (1626-1679) "The tooth puller" painted in 1651 The two same images on the side are scenes from the 17th century Children were beaten with the roe and the slab at school. Those attributes were used extensively. The plaque is a typical Dutch custom, where the teacher did not get up from his desk. Children had to come and collect their beating. They literally got a slap on the fingers if, for example, they had not learned their lesson. Beautiful ornate floral relief on the side The silver box has the Dutch Silver Hall marks Minerva head with letter A from Amsterdam The master sign of the Zaanse Silversmith The year letter of 1948, the Crowned Year letter N (Anniversary year) The walking lion with letter 2 (833/000) The box has a piece that is open in the shape of a triangle It is not a damage by using the box Take a look at the photo, on the barrel is a shelf with a square bottle on it You can see it in the photo to the right of the bottle in the corner of the shelf, bottle and the leg of the figure.
