A dutch large silver "brij" spoon by c.j. Begeer utrecht, 1909 a large dutch silver "brij" spoon in "hollands glad" (dutch smooth, translated) pattern dutch silver hallmarks of the office head (minerva) with letter b of utrecht, standing lion 1 for 925/1000 purity of silver, year letter z for 1909 and the master sign of c.j. Begeer, kon. Utrecht factory 1868-1920. This kind of spoon was also used as a serving spoon for stew and other stews, or a very dignified and therefore very expensive dish such as rice pudding, especially in wealthy circles. The spoon measures 26 cm long, 5,5 cm wide and the depth is 3,5 cm. The weight is 122 gram. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
