If anyone would like to do the research on the painter “J. Ericson” who signed this wonderful late 19th-century painting of cows grazing in a swamp, you might find they were really notable – because the skill level is so high. There’s a unique style here, a slightly modernistic or Impressionistic application of brushstrokes particularly visible in the depiction of the cows’ hides. In the far distance you can just make out a church steeple in what must be an old European village – very likely, considering the name Ericson, a Scandinavian one. 15.5” x 21” with frame, 12” x 17.5” without.
Proudly presented by Guy Lyman Fine Art, New Orleans, with our firm guarantee.
