Pigment pencil and water on mylar
Edition: Unique, Unframed.
This work is from a series titled Big Melt. It has been created with pigment pencils and ice. It captures the moment when solid is turning into liquid - not unlike when ice melts into water. The artist first draws vertical pigment lines and then methodically applies water or ice to make the lines melt and drip. When water has dried up the work has stopped making itself. This work is inspired by the witnessing of the rapid glacier melt happening around the Earth due to warming climate.
