What we do know, is that they were recently removed from a Chateau located in the Hills above Cannes in the south of France. Clearly the wrought iron candlesticks were made by an iron monger who had some talent. The expert at the French auction who was handling the sale of the Chateau’s contents described them as ancien, which means ancient, for he did not know either. They do have a great look and a three candle holder is fairly rare in this style. See less
