This brass and blue/green-glazed porcelain dish is a perfect example of Sevrès' work -- and in perfect condition. Based on the maker's mark, this dish was manufactured between 1900 and 1930. The PM in the maker's mark, "PM Sevres," confirms that this dish is the work of the French ceramist, Paul Milet. Paul Milet (France 1870-1931) was the son of Felix Optat Miletus who some say founded the Sevrès factory but the factory was in existence in the early 1800s when Napoleon himself was involved with the business so I don't think they're correct.
While we believe this to be a candy dish, it could have been meant for a different use. Today, feel free to use it as a jewelry tray or change dish or any other use. Or simply put in in your curio cabinet to stop children from using it for tea parties or marbles!
