This vintage lamp has been gently cleaned while respecting the age patina. It is newly rewired, earthed, PAT tested by an electrician and ready to use. It has the following new components: brass lamp holder & cover, bronze silk cable, black cord switch and black plug. This lamp could be used with a dimmer. It is possible to use this lamp in other countries with a light bulb suitable to local electricity.

This Midcentury vintage handmade two-toned turned inlaid wood table lamp has great craftmanship & attention to detail. The lamp base is unique and rare in incorporating the cricket theme. It has medium size proportions well suited for a side table, desk, sideboard, or bedside. With the warm tones, textures & sport theme, it would suit a range of interiors such as Antique, Traditional, Hollywood Regency, Midcentury, Industrial or Contemporary.

The design consists on a two toned round base in maple (light wood) & mahogany (darker wood) where a cricket bat rests on a wicket. All very realistically done in a wonderful mini scale. The wicket consists of 3 stumps and two bails, all beautifully carved in wood. The detailed bat showing the front & back, a inlaid splice plus the handle covered in fine thread.

An Urn/trophy shaped wooden column raises from behind the cricket sculpture. It is also beautifully inlaid and wood turned. At the top there is a solid brass neck leading to the new lamp holder & cover, both of brass. Two brass rings secure the removable lamp shade to the lamp holder.

This lamp carries the original vintage lampshade. It is made of dyed fabric on the outside cleverly matching the wooden tones of the base. It has a cylinder form with decorative gold metallic trim around the top & bottom borders. Inside it is lined white.

Underneath the lamp base is padded with new black felt to protect the furniture below.

This lamp carries 1 standard small screw light bulb (E14) up to 60 Watts. At present it is fitted & photographed with a Golf Clear shaped light bulb of 42 Watts. This is included in the price. It is possible to use other bulb shapes.

This vintage lamp is in very good condition for its age. The wooden frame is sound with the original finish in very good condition & minor tiny superficial marks. The vintage lampshade is in good condition with no cuts or stains on the fabric and a light warm patina. The metallic trim has tiny marks and some rubbing to the gold plating. All this in line with age & wear.

The total Height of the lamp with the shade on is: 56.5 cm.

The base alone without the shade is: Height: 34.5 cm, Width: 17.7 cm, Depth: 17.7 cm.

The lampshade alone is: Height: 28.5 cm, top diameter: 25.7 cm, bottom diameter: 28 cm.

Packing is offered free of charge. We take special professional care while packing. For safe transport the base & lampshade would be wrapped separately in bubble wrap, foam and an outer layer of card. Together these parts would easily fit into a box with loose fill packing nuts, safe for posting with a courier. We ship with reliable couriers (signed for, tracked & insured).
