An elongated pole medallion of 5 hexagons is neatly positioned on a well abrashed royal blue field. The yellow axis and outline of the hexagonal elements takes the place of the more usual ivory. There are three reds : a soft tone,a more saturated madder red and details in a dark tone. A hint of powder blue abrash enlivens borders on one side. The open field makes the rug appear longer and the pole provides strong centrality. No elements intrude on this logically rigorous composition.
The weave is single wefted, but an origin further north than Malayer is likely. The condition is excellent with only very slight wear to the blue field. This well constructed runner will provide plenty of use in almost any environment. This runner has been cleaned professionally.
