Giotta di Bondone was one of the most famous architects and celebrated artists in Florence during the late Middle Ages. His work is directly responsible for influencing much of the architecture and painting style in the city during his time.
This stamped statue was made in 1880 at one of the most renowned factories producing Impruneta terracotta in Florence, Italy. The eyes and face are warm and enlightened, offering a hauntingly peaceful feel . The statue is formed of resin and the paint used is an early form of poly-chrome.
