It depicts the Piazza San Giovanni Laterano in Rome with the Obelisk erected by Pope Sixtus V. In some places of the View are marked numbers that find their explanation in the caption at the bottom of the print. At the top is marked the number "696" which is not present in the caption.
The print is framed in simple walnut frame behind glass. The measurements shown in the card are the outside dimensions of the frame.
