Oil on canvas. The Milanese artist Carlo Jacono was an illustrator and painter: his unmistakable style, mastery of execution, the prolificity and artistic ability in over 50 years of career, the ability to lend himself to different genres and the great success with readers and publishers, made him one of the masters of Italian illustration and one of the most popular and well-known signatures on the scene of national and international illustration. He was also known as the 'Man of the Circle', a pseudonym due to the layout of many of his covers of pink, detective, science fiction, Italian, English, Swedish, Norwegian, American (remember, among many, the covers of the series 'Il Giallo Mondadori'), or simply by his last name, Jacono, with which he signed. Starting from 1970 Jacono undertook also a pictorial career, exposing in personal exhibitions both in Italy and abroad, preferring a figurative vein of romantic connotation that finds its masterpiece in the series of "I guerrieri". They have said of such production: 'they are apparitions of warriors of other times, that the imagination arrives to concretize also in the minute features of the face, and to imagine in the most reckless actions'. Probably also the painting presented here is part of this series: it is the face of a Nordic warrior, as can be deduced from the fur headgear that frames the proud and concentrated face in which the icy blue eyes stand out, and from the burnished metal collar engraved with graphic signs that refer to the Nordic runes; at the middle of the bust, the shoulder straps of the armour can be glimpsed.The painting is presented in frame. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
