Antique Dutch Sterling silver bread basket
Made of sterling silver hand crafted openwork basket
Period first half 18th century Georgian / Empire
Hallmark: Dutch Lion, Rotterdam essay office and Silversmith: Grebbe jr.
Origin Netherlands 1834.

Grebbe was a well known Dutch silversmidt
He participated in the Great Exhibition in London (1851) and the Exhibition of the Industry of All Nations in New York (1853-1854).
In New York he won a silver medal for his work a masterly crafted silver cup.
He also showed this cup in 1855 at the Exposition Universelle in Paris
Nowadays his work is part of the collection of:
