This 20th century French empire style inspired dressing chest cabinet is extremely well constructed. It features solid wood, 7 drawers … more This 20th century French empire style inspired dressing chest cabinet is extremely well constructed. It features solid wood, 7 drawers and 3 shelves that are covered by 2 wire screened framed outward facing door panels. This handsome storage unit is likely a men's dressing chest due toi its strong chestnut ceruse finished teak wood body and its two large full width cedar lined outer drawers. The two drawers are located in the lower sector of the majestic over 7 foot tall clothing armoire and are each appointed with a two linons head ring pulls on each of the dovetail finished drawers. Behind the lattice patterned wire screen Chippendale style upper case swing doors are 5 more tongue and groove constructed drawers. these have simple cut out drawer pulls that sit of wooden gliders each in its own cubby hole. two large stacked on the right side and three on the left. on top of those pull outs are 4 separate open compartment style shelves and one large full width shelf at the top that enjoys some extra space due at least 6 inches of inside recessed cabinet space above the visible door frames. A pattern of repetitive Greek keys serves to band the top of the unit which add nicely to neoclassic design motif. What's more is there is a muted gilt single band trim that outlines the outer portions of the molded cornice which also highlight the banded sections of the engaged vertical columns that flank the out ward facing front. and finally worth mentioning are the full length metal door hinges that are in step with the fantastic engineering to this unit that says something not heard often in todays mindset of disposable, shortcut and throwaway manufacturing world - "made to last'. less
