This hand-painted large serving bowl is inspired by a thousand year old design. We call it, Stella, Italian for star, and love the dramatic star pattern that still looks fresh today. Influenced by far away lands, design inspiration for ceramic designs like this came to Italy by way of traders.
This serving bowl was created just as it would have been when this design originated' hand thrown on a potter's wheel and glazed in the traditional colors that were available and used in ceramics and pottery of that time period.
A small bowl and platter with the Stella design are also available on Chairish. There's a picture of the entire set of serving pieces in the gallery photos. The large bowl is shown in the upper right hand side of the photo.
