Custom design by Studio Variously, Katha is a organic cotton bedspread / diver masterfully hand embroidered by unique group of indigenous artisan women in India.
A sustainable design brand based out of Michigan, Studio Variously exclusively collaborates with artisan communities to restore and revive ancient techniques by exploring custom modern designs in textile based products.
This textile is made up of 100% undyed organic cotton, cultivated using rain water harvestation process which mean it is 100% rain fed crop, making it truly sustainable in nature. This light weight organic cotton has a subtle raw quality and breathable in nature. The fringes are neatly hand rolled by our artisans.
Highlight of the light weight throw is the unique hand embroidery created by a small community of women artisans who collaboratively develop this pattern, which means each piece is extremely unique and the same pattern is not exactly replicated, to maintain the purity and connection with their craft. It takes few weeks to develop one single piece. We have named this piece Katha, which means in Hindi a community song which is motivational in nature. Katha bedspread / duvet luxuriously combines heritage value and high quality craftsmanship, made in a small rural village in India.
As this luxurious textile is completely handmade from start to finish, each piece is unique. Classic in design, this timeless bedspread has heritage value and will enhance interior spaces and also support artisan communities ethically.
Size: (210 cm x 240 cm) ( can be used as bedspread for queen or full sized bed & any large size of couch )

Colors: Embroidery in shades of soft cream, light brown , beige on white base ( undyed organic cotton )
Origin: Ethically handwoven by master artisans in India
Wash care: Gently hand wash with cold water and hang dry or delicately dry clean only.
Packaging: Each throw comes in a square cotton canvas pouch, which allows the textile to breath, and this can be re-used for storage. All our packaging pouches are also made by our artisans to keep our production inclusive.
