The dished top may be lowered and raised as the candle burns to provide consistent light for reading a book or sewing needlework. Original knob at the side holds the top at the desired height. The dish top rises on a nicely turned baluster shaft and the base is weighted underneath with lead for stability. Retains traces of the original wool baize on the bottom. Measures 9 1/2" tall or 12 3/4" tall when fully extended. The top measures 5 1/2" diameter. Good condition. See less
