This very large lamp has blin's signature cloudy glaze featuring etchings of indigenous hunters and their prey in a naive style, like drawings from an earlier time's cave drawings. The motif is rare indeed and possibly a one-off. The colour is hard to describe, somewhat of a mix between green and grey - breathtaking. The lamp is in good condition and is highly collectible. Currently configured for uk usage. Maker's mark on the base: 'j blin'. Contemporary lamp shade not included. About the artist: jacques blin was an engineer by trade but with a love for the visual arts. His style is immediately recognisable. His signature glaze is characterised by a more or less misty appearance and by decoration deeply marked in the raw clay, a method he used throughout his career. He frequently used fanciful birds, primitive animals, stylised figures and whimsical abstract motifs in his works which are always signed "j. Blin".
