This well seasoned piece commands any space with its intricate mother of pearl inlaid and rich rosewood construction. The alter table dates from around 1860. The top piece was clearly cut from the heart of the rosewood tree. All legs are solid with gorgeous curves to complement the inlaid. The mother of pearl inlaid adorns each leg on two sides in addition to each side panel comprising in several patterns: birds in flight, vases with arrangements, vines, and medallions. The craftsmanship is impeccable. The weight of the piece makes the table profoundly sturdy, ready to be adorned with the weight of an decoration. See less
