Ciel Bergman, formerly known as Cheryl Bowers, was a contemporary artist and activist. Bergman's work consists primarily of paintings, drawings, prints, photography, constructions and prose using the metaphors of the water, the rose and rose petals. Her paintings in the mid-1980's depicted aspects of goddess using symbols from the collective unconscious.
Bergman's work is included in numerous museum and corporate collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City; Oakland Museum of California, Oakland, CA; the National Gallery, Washington, DC; Atlantic Richfield; Saks Fifth Avenue; The Capitol Group; Banco di Roma; and Bank of America, as well private collection in the United States, Europe and Asia.
This breathtaking 13 foot wide triptych art piece was painted in 1983 and purchased in 1986 by a known designer and has been in her collection since. Full of 80s and 90s color palettes and flair, this piece is hypnotic in its scale and calm yet abstract complexity. The piece has a fairly meticulous paper trail including the original bill of sale from 1986 for $10,000, the original catalogue, and original printed biographical data of Ciel Bergman. This has essentially been in a time capsule since 1986 so it is in wonderful condition for its age and is a wonderful statement piece and investment to fill up that big open wall in your office or home.
