He is also famous for having been the "master" of Auguste Rodin, whom he employed and trained in his studio, as well as for having held the position of Director of Art Works at the Manufacture de Sèvres. Here he chooses to present a young woman coming out of the bath, her voluptuous body partly hidden harmoniously by a finely executed drape. Inspired by Antiquity, the bather seems to be caught drying herself, leaning against a stump, her right leg and foot drawn towards her. This sculpture rests on a marble base of reddish pink color, presenting 4 concave parts and a throat.
