The metal parts are silver because they tarnish, but I do not know what the silver content is. The glass is from the Corning Company and it is heat proof ( see photo #8 taken of the inside of the glass pitcher) for hot beverages The insert is made of plastic and would be used for ice for cold drinks. It is is very good vintage condition. The lid rim has a crack (photo #7) which doesn't affect its function and isn't visible when lid is on the pitcher., and the silver portions have some age related patina. See less
