All items are designed and … Read more The Heavy Metal furniture series was launched during the Dutch Design Week in October 2011.
All items are designed and are carefully handmade in Joosts workshop in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. For this project, steel is used in the way a carpenter would craft with wood. In all the furniture pieces from the Heavy Metal series, steam-rolled steel plates, with their typical dark steam-rolled skin, are combined with corner profiles from the same material. The steel plates are always used in multiples of 5 and therefore all pieces in the series result in a consequent and logical grid.
