The backrest is decorated with carvings and marquetry, featuring a central openwork element in the shape of a vase with leaves, flanked by symmetrical curves. The upper part of the backrest features a carved frieze with plant motifs and scrolls, accentuating the decorative character of the piece. The seat is upholstered in slightly worn orange velvet fabric and has a wide, low shape, a common feature in lounge or bedroom chairs. The front legs are turned and equipped with small wheels, while the rear legs are curved and without castors.
The chair shows signs of use, with some visible wear on the fabric and wood, but maintains structural stability. Probably dating from the turn of the 19th to the 20th century, it is a piece that may have served as an auxiliary seat in domestic environments. See less
