important beautiful italian walnut dinner table by palazzi dell'arte di cantù, attributed to paolo buffa in the empire style of the mid twentieth century ; in walnut and walnut folder with maple wood inlay. Top with walnut folder applied fishbone and maple inlay of clear neoclassical appeal. Legs in ionic pyramidal columns with gild bronze parts and pyramidal leg termination.

the designer paolo buffa
italian architect-designer paolo buffa (1903-1970) was active between the 1930s and 1960s. He is known for an array of furniture designs that marry neoclassical and art deco motifs with modernist principles. His pieces rarely include identifying marks, making them difficult to authenticate.
