moreRing-a-ding-ding! Wall phones were once a staple product for telephone companies. Although not as popular now, they once found a place in most households. Old-fashion phones make for a great retro decoration but can also be used for communication purposed.
The Model 43 Spacemaker was first introduced in 1938. These unique phones were designed specifically for cramped environments like small apartments. It was available with or without a dial. It has an internal network so it doesn't require a separate subset in order to connect to the line. Due to the obvious size limitations of the housing, however, a ringer was not included internally, but could be added externally if desired.
This piece is fully modular with a metal and bakelite and can receives and sends calls, but please make sure your telephone provider can accommodate rotary dial telephones. The phone shows signs of use and surface scratches. Although cell phones and social media communication define our way of life today, brother-sister team Joe and Janette Antone still believe in the power of the landline. These vintage collectors and technological historians started American Telephone Store to honor the beautiful craftsmanship and nostalgic draw of rotary phones from the 1910s through the 1990s.
Please make sure your telephone provider allows for a rotary dial phone.
