The Picchio (or 'Woodpecker') table lamp was designed by Mauro Martini in 1976 and manufactured by Fratelli Martini, Italy. It features an adjustable semi-cylindrical shade that is balanced on an L-shaped steel sheet. The shade is counter-balanced by a heavy cast iron ball positioned at the end of a chromed stem.
