the safari pendant was designed by christiaan hvidt in collaboration with his father, architect peter hvidt, and orla mølgaard for nordisk solar compagni. Awarded the prestigious if product design award in 1981, this pendant is a celebrated example of danish functionalism and technical elegance.

composed of three graduated aluminium shades held together with nickel-plated rods, the design offers soft, glare-free light. A perforated aluminium dome top allows for ambient light spill, while the outer finish is gloss white and the interior is matte white to optimise reflection and diffusion. A ceramic socket underscores the lamp’s quality and durability.
